Amanda Cooper's Bio
Amanda CooperNutrition Coach + Personal Trainer
Amanda has a personal weight loss story that inspired her to make personal training her profession. “In January of 2003 I was 39 years old, out of shape, 5’4” and a size 16. I stepped on my scales and went into shock when it read 180 pounds!! I knew I had to do something about my health. With a college reunion coming up in July of that year, I decided to join a gym and try to lose weight. Little did I know that walking into that gym would literally change my life!”
With the help of a personal trainer, Amanda lost 62 pounds in 10 months and went from a size 16 to a size 4. Losing weight is a 3-step process, which must include weight training, cardiovascular exercise, and proper nutrition. When Amanda got serious about all three steps, the weight just started falling off, she consistently lost a healthy 1 ½ pounds a week until she reached her goal weight. “Without my trainer, I would have never pushed myself to achieve what I did, and I probably would have quit soon after starting. If I can do it, you can too!”
About half-way through her weight-loss journey, Amanda realized that she wanted to become a personal trainer and help other people get healthy! She has the personal experience of going through the ups and downs of weight loss and is positive that it makes her a more effective trainer. She has spent the last few years educating herself with the knowledge and experience needed to be an elite trainer. She is certified through ACE (American Council on Exercise), NESTA (National Exercise Sports Training Association) and is a IBNFC Certified Nutrition Coach with Venice Nutrtion. She holds specialty certifications in Weight Management, Sports Nutrition, Pre/Post Natal and Speed and Agility.
Having a personal trainer is an investment in the rest of your life; in your well being, your self-esteem, your health and your appearance. Amanda would love to help you achieve your goals!
